Delivery and Shipping policy
Orders are generally shipped by our team within 7 working days following validation of your payment. Working days exclude weekends and public holidays.
Some items are very rare and impossible to stock in large quantity. Some others have to be declared and registered before to be exported. Please note that in some cases, we may need a few more days.
Pre-order shipping
Orders are only shipped once all the items they contain are ready. This means that if an order contains one or more pre-order items, it will not be shipped until all pre-order items are ready.
The expected shipping date for pre-order items is always indicated on the product page.
Revision of shipping costs
Shipping costs are calculated based on the weight and size of the items you select. Most of the time, the calculation is accurate. However, in rare cases, our system may make a calculation error.
In such a situation, we will contact you before validating your order and collecting your payment.
You will have the option of topping up the shipping amount you have already paid in order to receive your order, or to cancel your order.
Safe packaging
Security is very important to us. As Japanese anime goods have a rapidly increasing value, we do our best to prevent some thefts. Your order will always be shipped in a totally neutral brown cardboard box. We only mention the general type of product ordered (like "Toys"). This way, only you know exactly what is in the package.
Worldwide Delivery
For most destinations, we offer an Express Mail Service. This is the fastest and most reliable service for shipping international packages from Japan. Please note that shipping costs start at about 18 USD. We therefore recommend that you order multiple items to offset this cost.
We also offer at least one much more affordable (but slower) shipping method to most destinations.
Guaranteed delivery
We ensure that you can track your order (if you chose this option). When your order has been processed by the delivery service, you will receive an email from us containing a tracking link. When something goes wrong in the delivery process, you can signal this timely through this link and contact us about this. This way we can often prevent the return of orders.
We guarantee the delivery of your order. When something goes wrong in the delivery process, we will ensure that you receive your order. In this case, the recipient is responsible for correctly entering the delivery address and (if applicable) picking up the order in time at the pick-up location.
Delivery times
In most destinations, you can expect your order to be delivered within:

3 months after your parcel has been shipped with our Saving Mail Service (By sea)
Note that deliveries may take longer than expected, depending on the situation of the postal service in Japan and in your country. We don't have any control on this.
In most destinations, once your parcel has arrived in your country, it will be handled by your main local delivery service (La Poste for France, Bpost for Belgium, Elta for Greece, Poczta Polska for Poland, PostNL for the Netherlands, USPS for the USA, Australia post for Australia, Royal Mail for UK, SingPost for Singapore, etc.). You should then be able to use your tracking number directly on their websites for a more detailed tracking.
Customs Taxes/Fees
On our website, you order products that will be shipped from Japan, and you will most likely receive them outside of Japan. You are therefore importing goods and are responsible for paying all customs duties, taxes and other charges deemed appropriate by your local authorities in order to receive the package.
The price of the goods on our website does not include these fees. These fees are paid to your local carrier or government and are not collected by Ichiba Japan, and therefore cannot be refunded.
As we are unable to tell you how much these fees will be, or even if you will have to pay them, we recommend that you contact your local customs office if you need more information.
Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. Any issue reported later than 48 hours after receipt of your order will not be accepted.
Returned parcel
Any parcel that is returned to us without prior confirmation, for example if you have made a mistake in your delivery address, or if you have refused the delivery, or if you have not collected your parcel in time, or if you have not paid the taxes or customs fees, or if you have decided to return the goods without talking to us first, will either be reshipped at your expense or refunded minus the shipping costs and a 10% restocking fee.
